Photographs on Canvas - Creating your dream canvas

When you send your photograph in, the first thing we do is take a look at it and ask ourselves whether the image itself can be improved by:

  • Colour balancing
  • Cropping
  • Retouching

This is all done FREE of charge and we then email you proofs for your consideration.
Below you can see some examples of how we work to improve your images.

    Colour balancing - FREE

This involves taking a look at the contrast, shadows and colour balance to make sure that the photo will look as good as it can be. We also look to see if a photograph will look good in black and white. Below are just a couple of examples of how we improved some of our customers' images.

Turn your photos from colour to black and white or sepia
What is it about black and white photographs that makes them so timeless? With certain shots, simply turning them from colour to black and white or sepia can really bring them to life. When you request a quote, let us know if you'd like to see the image in sepia - there's no charge!

    Cropping - FREE

Within any photo can lurk a more powerful image and our job is to find it!
We take a look at all photos we receive to see if they could be improved by cropping. If we feel they can, we will email you some suggested crops for you to consider. If you like one of our crops, we then let you know how this would effect the proportions and therefore size of the canvas. The cropped image can usually be printed at a very similar size to the original size you had in mind.
It's because our stretcher bars are hand built to order (and we don't use low quality ready-made ones) that we can offer this service.
Below are some examples of crops we have done.

    Retouching - FREE

A bit of light retouching can work wonders on a photo.
If, for example, someone has a bit of a spot on their face, or a baby has a bit of dribble on it’s chin, we can take that out. A common request is to remove the digital date stamp from a photo. Below you can see a couple of examples of how some light retouching has improved an image.
Please remember that whilst all images are carefully cleaned and checked for scratches and marks before printing, and a degree of retouching is done for free, if you do want major retouching then we'll have to give you a quote on a case by case basis. The examples below were all done within the free allowance.

To get the ball rolling, the first step is for you to let us know the size of photo to canvas you're after, by filling in our short, no-obligation, request a quote form.
We will simply e-mail you back with a firm price on your photo to canvas and details of what to do next - where and how to send your photos in etc. - should you wish to proceed with the order.

    Interesting Ideas

There is of course a lot more to creating a great image than simply blowing it up. Here are just a few thoughts on what you could do with your pictures to really take them out of the ordinary.

    Multiple Image
To make an image more interesting, why not break it into sections and have it finished as a number of canvases? This works especially well with photos taken in panoramic mode.

Photographs on canvas. When you have your photograph printed on canvas, why not have it split into three to make an interesting triptych?

    Children's drawings

    Children’s drawings make wonderful canvases
Take a small drawing and let us blow it up to over a metre to get the most fantastic effect. Next stop Tate Modern! These highly personal canvases appeal to both children and adults, making them a great way to decorate a child’s room.
This service works and is priced in just the same way as our photos to canvas service.
You let us know your contact details and the size you would like the canvas by filling out our request a quote form.
We then email you back a quote based on your specific requirements, you supply us with the drawing (make sure it is no bigger than A4) and - having made sure everything is OK - we then scan it in, clean it up and produce the canvas. It couldn't be easier.

As well as printing photographs on canvas we also print children's drawings on canvas. Have these blown up to a large size and printed on canvas for a stunning piece of art!
