Ordering process in more detail

1) You Request a Quote
Fill in the Request a Quote form, letting us know:
a) The style of portrait you want.
b) The size you want it.
c) Any colour preferences you have.
d) Whether you want it framed, stretched or unframed.

2) We send your quotation
Within 24 hours (usually far quicker) we email you back, giving you your quotation and outlining the next steps.

3) You send in the photo you want the bespoke portrait based on
Photos can be supplied to us in any format, from prints, negatives and slides to digitally on disk or by email.
Once we’ve got your photo we then check that we can work with it. As a rule of thumb, the better the better the photo we receive, the better the end result will be. As the artist is working only from the photo and needs to be able to zoom in on it to find the detail, it is very important that the shot is clear and in focus. 4) We agree with you the composition and colours you want
Composition
To establish the composition of the picture with you, we do a number of crops of the photo and email these to you for your approval. Below you can see a typical set of crops that we might send at this stage.

Colours
Depending on the style you choose, the issue of colours may be as simple as thinking about the background colour, or - with a style like the Warhol style, where many colours are involved - it could be about choosing the sort of colour palette you want us to use. It may even be that you are looking to use certain colours to fit in with your interior.
Whatever the case, we discuss the colours with you and when we are clear about what it is you’re after we then sum it all up in an email to you.

5) You confirm the order
You take a look at the confirmation email that sums up all the details about your order – size, style, agreed composition and colours, finish and price.
If you’re happy that everything is right, you then confirm your order by making a 50% downpayment.
This is easily done through the your order section of the site. Simply click on the link we send and follow the instructions given. As soon as we receive confirmation of your order, the relevant artist starts work.

6) The artist starts work

7) We send you draft versions of your bespoke portrait
About 2 weeks after confirmation of your order, we will then come back to you (on email) with a draft version of the picture, showing how it would look using your chosen colour combination, but also showing you a number of alternative colour combinations that you might like to consider. At that point you can give us your thoughts on the picture and any amendments you would like can be made. You are in complete control, so you only get the portrait you are happy with. Below you can see a typical set of drafts that we might send for a Graphic style portrait.

8) You give us your feedback
You take a look at the drafts and let us know what you think.

9) The Artist makes changes
Any amendments that you would like made by the artist are done and further version/s emailed to you.

10) You approve the portrait
When you are happy with the portrait you let us know.
We then (for all styles excluding of course the oil paintings) print out colour proofs for internal approval. Once we are happy that the image is printing out as it should, we will then print it at full size.

11) Your portrait is despatched
The canvas will then be stretched around a kiln dried pine frame and carefully packed up ready to despatch to you. To ensure your picture reaches you in perfect condition, we take great care in packing it up. First the picture is covered in bubble wrap, before two sheets of MDF are then placed either side to prevent any puncture damage. The whole thing is then poly wrapped, packed in a cardboard box and firmly secured.
When it's ready to go, which should be a week or so after approval, we drop you a line with an expected delivery date.

All our Pop Art Portraits and photos on canvas are very carefully packed up to ensure they reach you in perfect condition.
