About the artist
Born in the Sudan and now living in London, Roubi Elroubi is the co-owner of Roubi
Tomasz, couture fashion house. His main occupation is fashion design
following formal education in mechanical engineering, at University of
London.

A career in the retail marketing of 20th century design classics has given
him a very focused and uncompromising view on what good design is. With a
critical eye for good form and function, he has the ability to view a
product without being distracted with transient trend. He focuses on what is
classic and timeless.


Artist notes
"Music takes the subconscious to another state of mind. One feels happy,
sad, melancholic, euphoric amongst many feelings when one listens to a piece
of music. Many times we feel free and happy when we hear a tune that we
associate with summer and the beach. Hence the success of lounge music.

Colours in turn, communicate in a similar manner with our subconscious. They
interact with each other to give us feeling of calm, rest, relaxation or
restlessness and anger. I paint to demonstrate that. My favourite feeling
that I like to bring across is harmony, balance, calm and modernity. Or
simply comfort. I believe that one should acquire art that simply makes one
feel good and rested. After all we all escape to our homes from the world at
the end on a day and want calm and peace."
