How we improve your photos

If you choose the option of having us show you some treatments of your photo, we will see if the photograph can be improved by: Balancing the colours, shadows, highlights, midtones, contrast and brightness Cropping Retouching Red-eye removal

Balancing - FREE

This involves taking a look at the contrast, shadows, midtones, brightness and colour balance to make sure that the photograph on canvas will look as good as it can be.

Retouching - FREE

A bit of light retouching can work wonders on a photo.
If, for example, someone has a bit of a spot on their face, or a baby has a bit of dribble on it’s chin, we can take that out. A common request is to remove the digital date stamp from a photo. Below you can see a couple of examples of how some light retouching has improved an image.
Please remember that whilst all images are carefully cleaned and checked for scratches and marks before printing, and a degree of retouching is done for free, if you do want major retouching then we'll have to give you a quote on a case by case basis. The examples below were all done within the free allowance.

In this example we balanced the image as well as touching out the woman in the background and the leg on the right.


Here we balanced the photo which was quite dark as well as retouching the face.
Take a careful look at how the cheek on the right and the foehead have been improved.

Red-eye removal - FREE

Here you can see the original photo on the left, with the treated photo, including red-eye removal, in the centre.

Cropping - FREE

Within any photo can lurk a more powerful image and our job is to find it!
It's because our stretcher bars are hand built to order (and we don't use low quality ready-made ones) that we can offer this service.

Turn your photos from colour to black and white or sepia
What is it about black and white photographs that makes them so timeless? With certain shots, simply turning them from colour to black and white or sepia can really bring them to life.
